A native of New York City, and best known for my role as Rosie in the 1994 cult classic film FRESH, I am now starring in the greatest role of my life – inspiring, influencing, and championing greatness in others.
By profession, I am a Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Talent Partner, speaker, and consultant. A mother of two beautiful girls, a literary influencer, and a book enthusiast by passion!
A lover of literature and an advocate for independent authors, I launched Transparent Gem Inc., a boutique consultancy, dedicated to assisting BIPOC writers and literary creatives with navigating the independent publishing space, in June 2017.
In 2018, I was recognized for my work in the independent literary community, as the recipient of ACHI Magazine's and ACHI Women Supporting Women Association's "Author of the Year" award.
In 2020, I was called to launch The Diamond Writers, a women-only space devoted to developing, publishing, and promoting aspiring authors and aiding women in the BIPOC community to heal and release trauma through writing, journaling, and storytelling.
My mission is to support women who feel invisible, unseen, insignificant, and unheard, and encourage them to own their truth, reclaim their power and discover their voices by sharing transparent stories that will inspire and free others.
An author myself designated Queen Pen, I co-wrote, compiled, and authored more than half a dozen independent publications including the Amazon bestseller Mascara: Beat Face. Broken Soul. (2016), Pretty Broken: Transforming Scars to Beauty Marks (2021), and Beneath the Crown: Her Story. Her Power. Her Voice. (2022).
When I am not hosting my podcast, Hustle & Shine, I am focused on passion projects including several new anthologies, GEM Class Workshops, and the Diamond Loft Literary Cafe & Event Venue, opening in summer 2024 in Atlanta, GA.
